Nerikomi Pattern Pot

Shaped by hand, two types of clay are kneaded and fused together, intertwining as they merge.
This process is like thousands of trials, ultimately creating a unique pattern and form.

The soft lines hold a flowing rhythm within, where stillness and movement coexist.
The direction of the pattern cannot be predicted before carving,
only through repeated shaping and carving does its fantastical and immeasurable pattern emerge.

Valuing the delicate balance between artistry and craftsmanship,

this work aims to naturally incorporate art into daily life.

From casual ceramics that are easy to handle to sophisticated, modern forms,

this ceramic pot offers a perfect balance, with a substantial presence and stability.

Xiao carries on the spirit of his father, who ran a pottery class in Taiwan for over 20 years,

and is dedicated to craftsmanship that merges design and creativity.

Additionally, through collaborations with young ceramists and experienced mold makers based in Yingge,

he continues to spread the charm and potential of Taiwanese ceramics to a wider audience.
